This article will guide you through troubleshooting an EC2000 controller that is offline or not showing up in GEM or GridPoint Intelligence.

Controller Offline

  1. Confirm network stability for the site.
    1. If this is an issue, GridPoint cannot assist with general network issues. Please reach out to the IT contact for the site.
  1. Locate the controller.
  2. If screen is on, check the top right corner of the screen for a red dot. The red dot indicates a connectivity issue. (Image 1.2)
    1. If there is a red dot, you can skip to step 5.
  3. Check network activity LED located on the center-bottom of the controller, to the right of the power connection. (Image 1.3)
    1. A blinking blue light indicates data is being transmitted. Continue to step 7.
    2. No light indicates a network issue.
      1. Reach out to the IT contact for the site.

  1. Perform a soft reset.
    1. With a paperclip or something of a similar diameter, press and hold the reset button located to the immediate left of the ethernet cable on the underside of the controller.
    2. Confirm If not connected, continue to the next step.
  2. Perform a hard reset.
    1. Check ethernet cable connection at controller
      1. Ethernet cable connects on right side of controller, along the bottom. (Image 1.4)
      2. Inspect ethernet cable for damage.
    2. Unplug ethernet cable.
    3. FOLLOW THIS STEP ONLY IF Interface is Ethernet (usb0) up or down.
      1. If there is a USB dongle or cable located on the left of the ethernet cable, unplug it. (Image 1.5)
    4. Unplug power cable and wait 5 minutes.
    5. Plug power cable back in and wait 5 minutes.
    6. Plug ethernet cable back in.
    7. Confirm If not connected, continue to next step.
    8. Check the Network information and verify it matches GEM
      1. Reenter Network information if needed
    9. FOLLOW THIS STEP ONLY IF Interface is Ethernet (usb0) up or down.
      1. If it is a USB dongle, leave it unplugged.
      2. If it is a USB cable, plug it back in.
  3. If these steps do not bring the controller back online, contact GridPoint Support for more details.
