Quick Start Guide

The EC2000 controller is the hub for GridPoint’s Energy Management System. The controller manages all on-site controls for the HVAC temperatures and lighting schedules.

The controller is usually located in the manager’s office or back room. You may notice other GridPoint equipment like thermostats, however all changes for HVAC units and lights are built into the EC2000 controller.

  • HVAC: View HVAC setpoints and schedules and perform overrides.*
  • Lighting: View lighting schedules and perform overrides.*
  • Metering: View main load and other metered asset data.
  • Refrigeration: View current temperatures, humidity, and other data.
  • Sensors: View current temperatures and other data.

Note: HVAC and lighting overrides are temporary. To request permanent  adjustments, reach out to your local facilities manager

HVAC FAQs

  1. What do I do if my HVAC is not heating/cooling?
    1. Regardless if the controller is online or offline, the thermostats will still maintain the setpoints. If a HVAC unit is not heating/cooling this may be a sign that the HVAC unit is failing. Follow troubleshooting steps on the top of page 1 and if the problem persists, contact support at 1-866-800-8906 x1.
  2. What if I did an override and it is still uncomfortable?
    1. If you have already triggered an override and the site is uncomfortable, it may be a sign that the HVAC unit is failing. To request permanent temperature adjustments, reach out to your local facilities manager.
  3. What do I do if my EC2000 screen is blank?
    1. If a controller screen is blank, cycle the power on the controller by unplugging the black power cord located on the bottom left of the controller, wait 30 seconds then plug it back in. If a controller is showing disconnected, check the network settings to confirm the EC2000 is
connected to the local internet network. If the problem persists, contact support at 1-866-800-8906 x1.

Lighting FAQs

  1. What do I do if the lights don’t turn on?
    1. If you submitted a lighting override and the lights still do not come on, cycle the power on the controller by unplugging the black power cord located on the bottom left of the controller, wait 30 seconds then plug it back in. Submit a lighting override again, and if the lights do not turn on, please call support.
  2. Why can’t I perform an override?
    1. Your corporate office may decide that on-site controllers cannot change lighting settings. To request permanent lighting schedule adjustments, reach out to your local facilities manager.

HVAC Overrides

If a site is uncomfortable, site employees will be able to perform temporary temperature overrides to heat or cool the site. The temporary override lasts for 1-2 hours and allows for +/- 2-degree change. To request permanent temperature adjustments, reach out to your local facilities manager.

Note: Fan mode and HVAC mode do NOT need to be changed to start a temperature override. All settings will revert back to corporate default settings once the override duration ends.

Performing a HVAC Override

  1. Locate and click on the HVAC button to view all HVAC units at location.
  2. Select the unit in the zone you want to override the temperature for.
  3. Adjust the temperature as needed with the up/down arrows.
  4. View current conditions like humidity, fan status, and current HVAC stage by clicking on the gear button.

Lighting Overrides

If there is an instance where lights and signage need to be turned on outside of established hours, site employees will be able to perform lighting overrides on the EC200 controller. Lighting overrides last for 30 minutes to 1 hour and can be repeated continuously. To request permanent lighting schedule adjustments, reach out to your local facilities manager.

Performing a Lighting Override

  1. Locate and press on the Lighting icon to view the lighting schedule.
  2. Press the on/off button next to the lighting zone you want to override. The override duration will appear on the button. To cancel, simply press the button again.

Troubleshooting Steps

If a controller screen is blank, cycle the power on the controller by unplugging the black power cord located on the bottom left of the controller, wait 30 seconds then plug it back in. If a controller is showing disconnected, check the network settings to confirm the EC2000 is connected to the local internet network. If the problem persists, contact support at 1-866-800-8906 x1.
