Trane BACnet RTUs on Legacy 3612 Controller – Resolving Heat/Cool Calling Issue

If we have Trane BACnet RTU(s) at a Walgreens site that has a legacy 3612 control and, the unit(s) will not call for heat or cool during unoccupied hours when outside of the setpoints.

To fix this issue, we must change the occupied to 00:00 – 24:00 under HVAC settings in the configuration tool. This diagnosis must be confirmed using Graph data that shows the unit is not calling for heat/cool properly during unoccupied hours but heats/cools appropriately in occupied settings.

Steps:

  1. Access the site in GEM.
  2. Navigate to the Control tab.
  3. Click HVAC in the left-hand sidebar.
  4. Select the unit(s) you need to change.
  5. Click Edit.

  1. On the pop-up window, change the occupied time for the unit(s)
    1. Begin Offset - Specific Time 00:00.
    2. End Offset - Specific Time 24:00.
    3. Note: This allows the unit to use occupied settings 24/7 so please only change the unit(s) that are not properly reflecting unoccupied settings.
  2. Confirm that the change has been made by checking the control tab>HVAC and Occupied hours.
