Powerlink G3 Addressed as 208 Powerlink G3 Addressed as 201 Changing Address to Regain Communication

Powerlink G3 Addressed as 208

  • Confirm that the address in the Powerlink (on site) is addressed as 208. (Steps to access address below.) Next, confirm that all the communication wiring is landed correctly. After that is confirmed, perform a reset on the lighting controller. Do this utilizing the pin-hole reset to the left of the arrow buttons.
  • There is no option to “hard reset” this lighting controller. The pin-hole reset is the only reset option available.
  • After this reset is performed, it may take up to five minutes for the Powerlink G3 to begin communicating with the GridPoint controller again.

Powerlink G3 Addressed as 201

If the Powerlink is addressed as 201, you will need to change the address to regain and ensure further communication. (A simple reset may regain communication temporarily, but it will most likely not last.)

To change the address on the Powerlink G3 controller:

  1. Select menu, using the buttons beneath the screen.
  2. Scroll to Controller and press the + button.
  3. Scroll to Communications and press the + button.
  4. Scroll to Serial Comms and press the + button.
  5. Change the address to 208 using the arrow keys.
  6. Return to the main menu, then reset the Powerlink G3 and update the configuration.

Changing Address to Regain Communication

  1. Log into the site via the configuration module and select “GridPoint Equipment” and then “Load Controllers.”
  2. Scroll down the page until you have located the “Powerlink G3” Square D lighting controller. Select the address drop-down and then select the address of 208. 
     

  1. After this, remember to select “Save” at the bottom of the page, “Save and Submit” to the left, and then “Validate and Submit on the next page.
  1. After this step has completed, it can take up to 10 minutes to see the Powerlink G3 begin to communicate with the controller under the new address. Communications should be verified in the testing module of Admin UI.
