This article will guide you troubleshooting an EDGE controller with offline connected devices (wired and wireless).

Connected Devices Offline

  1. Locate the controller.
  1. Confirm power LED (green, solid- lefthand LED) is on.
    1. If power LED is not on, check the 12VDC Adaptor.
      1. Check for physical damage.
      2. Unplug from EDGE and plug back in.
      3. Unplug wall plug from 120V receptacle socket and plug back in.
      4. If there is another spare wall socket, try moving the 12VDC plug to the empty socket.
      5. Confirm power to wall socket through breaker.
    2. If after all above steps there is still no power, we will need to replace the 12VDC Adaptor.
      1. Contact GridPoint Support for more details.
  1. If a new 12VDC Adaptor is used and there is still no power, the EDGE controller will need to be replaced.
    1. Contact GridPoint Support for more details.
  1. If power comes on, continue to next step.
  2. Confirm heartbeat LED (blue, flashing- righthand LED) is on.
    1. This indicates that the EDGE firmware is running, and the device is fully booted up.
  1. If there is no blue light, reach out to GridPoint Support for more details.

Troubleshooting Wired Connected Devices 

  1. Locate the controller.  
    1. If the tech or site staff are having trouble locating the controller, check in Intelligence 
      1. Select customer > select sites and choose current site > click Install button > under Install Details, click Install Photos  
  2. Confirm power LED (green, solid- lefthand LED) is on. 
    1. If power LED is not on, check the 12VDC Adaptor 
      1. Check for physical damage 
      2. Unplug from EDGE and plug back in 
      3. Unplug wall plug from 120V receptacle socket and plug back in 
      4. If there is another spare wall socket, try moving the 12VDC plug to the empty socket 
      5. Confirm power to wall socket through breaker 
    2. If after all above steps there is still no power, we will need to replace the 12VDC Adaptor 
      1. Technical Experts will need to message the Response Ops channel for assistance. 
      2. Response Ops should review the case and send a message to our Slack team supporting GridPoint Intelligence 
    3. If a new 12VDC Adaptor is used and there is still no power, the EDGE controller will need to be replaced 
      1. Technical Experts will need to message the Response Ops channel for assistance. 
      2. Response Ops should review the case and send a message to our Slack team supporting GridPoint Intelligence 
    4. If power comes on, continue to next step 
  3. Confirm heartbeat LED (blue, flashing- righthand LED) is on. 
    1. This indicates that the EDGE firmware is running, and the device is fully booted up. 
    2. If this is not flashing, Technical Experts will need to message the Response Ops channel for assistance. 
    3. Response Ops should review the case and send a message to our Slack team supporting GridPoint Intelligence
